welcome to the tragic kingdom

my sixth grade cousin rode with us to the volleyball game this weekend. we were in discussion about recession. she asked what it was and couldn't quite get a grasp on the "no one has money to put back into the economy" idea.

but when i told her it would be like her parents not having money to buy hollister clothes, but instead took them to wal-mart for school shopping, her eyes got really big and she did a very dramatic "oh no!"

all by myself

i think i have exactly one friend who is single. this past weekend, i was notified that one more was taken out of the NOT PREGGERS/MOMMY pool. mary and andy promised they wouldn't come back from china pregnant. they are liars.

this weekend was as complicated as they might get. i am exhausted because of it.

i'm going home next weekend. gracie lu's volleyball team is doing VERY WELL. possibly state bound. these are the type of things that family is for, to support each other in whatever you choose to do. lucy is all about the volleyball. i can put off the "shopping to prepare for that one's visit". this is the last time lu will be at this point in her life. visits will always be possible... my apartment being more put together is not pertinent.

good times never seemed so good

coffee refill in the break room. strongly discussing the pros and cons of our work and all it entails. set my cup down to use my hands while i talked. he refills it to the top. it was very sweet.

keep holding on

my head hurts. like random shooting of pain through it ever 5 mins or so. and i get dizzy when i stand up...started a few days ago.

my dad died at about my age from brain cancer. things like this and my migraines make me uneasy sometimes.

papa don't preach

i told kait tonight that i didn't think i wanted kids, at least now... that i was in the least bit ready for them. dog sitting already has proved out of my league. they say you need to start with a plant (i am master plant killer) and then move to a dog and then children. one dog has puked 3 times and pooped inside twice since i got here at 6pm. i'm completely grossed out...can't handle it. no kids, no kids, no kids, no kids, no kids, no kids, no kids.....................

i shot a man in reno, just to watch him die

while surfing the nomad blogs recently, i've come to realize that i'm no longer a part of it. my days of @ are over - and come to think of it, were almost 2 years ago. very few of my cronies remain. it's an odd feeling that the pictures that i was once part of now only have 1 or 2 familiar faces in a crowd of 20, 50, 100... i'm not even sure that the LC that i called home is still open for business. or how many familiar faces are in mad-town.

hmm, just the thoughts of the moment.

it won't matter anyway

fall makes me very happy. actually, every season change here makes me happy for different reasons, but i think that fall is my favorite. the rich colors of the trees changing, the new crispness to the air, sweaters. ahh...great.

my brother went back to school yesterday. just one week after his accident. i was expecting him to look like hell when i got home on friday. other than his belly to halfway up his head brace, he looked perfect...bruises gone, no swelling. through all this, a new level of responsibility is being taken on by my whole family. decision making will be much more clear-headed. if we ever go through this again, it won't be our doing. there will be other parties involved.... that's what we've decided.

september was a big month with the new job. outcome will make me smile...hopefully.

happy october....jeesh this year's flown.
